This Gigabit Ethernet AMC board is based on Freescale’s Power QUICC™ III family of Network Security Processors. The board is a singlewidth,full-size module with 2 GB of 64-bit DDR-2 memory supporting speeds up to 667*MT and 8-bit ECC support, NOR flash memory on the boot bus supporting flexible OS boot options. The front panel of the board comprises of two Copper GE ports (Dual RJ45). The AMC connector provides x8 PCIe or x4 PCIe interface.
An on-board micro controller acting as Module Management Controller (MMC) is connected to the carrier board/system management bus.
About the CPU
The Freescale’s MPC8572E is a dualcore embedded controller of Power QUICC™ III family which is a network
security processor running at clock frequencies up to 1500MHz.
* DDR2 speeds can go up to 800MT at processor frequency 1500MHz with large heat sink.
*Supports DDR3 at 1.5 GHz speeds. |
