| The Sun UltraSPARC T2 Reference Design Kit uses the UltraSPARC T2 processor — Sun’s second-generation CMT processor. With eight cores and eight threads per core — a total of 64 threads — the UltraSPARC T2 processor is the industry’s leading multi-core/multi-thread processor, with integrated floating point, cryptographic acceleration, 10 GbE networking, and PCIe I/O all on the chip. By using the UltraSPARC T2 processor, systems designers can drastically shorten their design, development, and testing times, while lowering manufacturing costs and accelerating time to market. |

The Sun UltraSPARC T2 Reference Design Kit supports both the Solaris 10 OS and Linux. In addition to the Solaris OS, Sun offers a complete set of software development tools for free download, including compilers, debuggers, and optimizers,
at: http://www.opensparc.net/cooltools. Supported Linux distributions and their associated tool chains will be available from a number of independent Linux vendors. |
