GDA Technologies’ GPEX-3000 board
is an Intellectual Property evaluation
platform intended for validating a variety
of RTL cores. The GPEX-3000 architecture
is optimized for high-density and high-performance
logic designs. The rich feature set, based
on today’s high speed networking
technology, allows functional testing
of various types of Intellectual Property
cores by using Xilinx Virtex II Pro XC2VP50
FPGA. By using the high-density FPGA,
the GPEX-3000 can prototype an ASIC equivalent
of approximately 600K gates.
Different high speed interconnects like
PCI Express, PCIX are supported in this
platform.
The board provides for easy configuration
of the FPGA either through a JTAG connector
with a multiLINX cable or with a standard
Flash device through an on- board CPLD.
The management portion includes a CPU
subsystem, which can be plugged in as
a module. CPU module with MPC8245 processor
from Motorola supported by 8MB Flash Memory
and 128MB SDRAM. There is a serial port
and an Ethernet management port available
on-board to facilitate debug activity.
The board can operate as a standalone
hardware module or as a PCI/PCI-X or PCIe
add on card, thereby enhancing the application
of the board.
